Cupcake Cakes
This book shows a whole new phase of the cupcake craze! “Cupcake cakes” are fun-shaped cakes made from putting cupcakes together. I don’t know about you, but I hate the idea of having to buy a whole new shaped pan for every birthday party or special occasion! Cupcakes make the perfect building blocks. This book shows all kinds of different shapes you can make, like a purple hippo, spotted puppy, princess tiara, dump truck, lollipops, and hedgehog. And cupcake cakes are perfect for parties and crowds, because the cake can be easily pulled apart into individual cupcake servings. You don’t have to worry about cutting perfectly equal portions. (You know how kids get–“Hey, her piece is bigger than mine!”)

What makes this book extra fun is all the candies used to make different features, like white square gum for hippo teeth and rolos for gold coins in the treasure chest. I hope you find lots of inspiration and come up with shapes and decorating ideas of your own! I would love to hear your ideas and what you think about the book! Cupcake Cakes is available at independent bookstores (click here to find a store near you), chain stores like Barnes and Noble and Borders, the Gibbs Smith website, and Amazon.

No-Bake Gingerbread Houses for Kids
Every year at Christmas for as long as I can remember, I would want to make a gingerbread house. But just thinking about making the dough, rolling it, cutting it out, and waiting 24 hours for it to harden exhausted me! I knew that you could make a very simple gingerbread house out of graham crackers. But I wanted to do more than just a simple house! So I came up with the idea for No-Bake Gingerbread Houses for Kids. The book features houses ranging from a pink castle to a tiki hut to a red barn and more, all using graham crackers, cookies, waffle bowls, and ice cream cones. They just take a few minutes to put together so that you can get to the decorating sooner. That’s the best part, right?

I’m excited for you to see all the fun projects in the book and make them yourself! No-Bake Gingerbread Houses for Kids is available at independent bookstores (click here to find a store near you), chain stores like Barnes and Noble and Borders, the Gibbs Smith website, and Amazon. I would love to hear from you once you’ve bought a copy!
